Remove the section under “Purity” with the video of Khamenei claiming he spoke to god. This puts Shi’a’s in a bad light. Not all of them believe in Wilayat Al Faqih, which is a controversial Shi’a topic that only followers of Khamenei and Khomeini believe in, and the rest of the Shi’a community differ in opinion about. It’s unnecessary and it is not even mentioned in the section. Please remove it, thank you. 2600:1007:A111:4D4B:5432:D2FF:4F72:4A0A (talk) 04:38, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

In the shahada part, it is said that the word "Ali is a friend of Allah" is mentioned in Qur'an 5:55, while in that verse there is no mention of Ali - radiyallahu anha - nor about successor at all. It just said "Your only guardians are Allah, His Messenger, and fellow believers—who establish prayer and pay alms-tax with humility." 5:55. So i think this is a false source to be mentioned. 2400:9800:FE:4343:182E:A1B0:C318:3D3A (talk) 23:57, 20 March 2025 (UTC) thing[reply]

The current text doesn't imply that "Ali is a friend of Allah" is mentioned in the Quran. (It's the occasion of revelation that's believed to be connected to Ali in Shia (and some Sunni) exegeses). Albertatiran (talk) 06:17, 21 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Video of Ali Khamenei (and his claim of "speaking with God")

[edit]
Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, and his claim of “speaking with God”

The video was added on two different, seperate times on “Purity” portion of the article. User Albertatiran (a “proud member of the Shi'a Islam task force” as stated on his profile page), is trying to engage in an edit war, as he finds the video “irrelevant”, on a section that specifically brings a quote from Ali Khamenei stating : “… Jews and other Peoples of the Book are not inherently impure, and touching the moisture on their hands does not convey impurity”.

@Albertatiran, is Ali Khamenei a Grand Ayatollah and marja, and is considered the leader of Shia Muslims or not? Oganesson007 (talk) 06:16, 25 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Oganesson007, I don't really appreciate the language you used and the accusations you levelled, but let's move on to the video in question.
First, the transcription is incorrect, judging as a native Farsi speaker. He does not claim that he "spoke with God" in this video. Rather, God spoke through him when he gave his impromptu (but "charming") speech. This is a fairly common figure of speech in Farsi. So, the transcription is literal, incorrect, and most likely politically-motivated against Khamenei. In that case, this article about Shia Islam is not the right place for your political agenda.
Second, it is not clear to me how this video relates at all to purity of non-muslims, which is the topic of this section. I'd be surprised if you can find any reasonable connection there. Albertatiran (talk) 06:40, 25 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
